Welcome News – Less Hassle for Commuters

25 Aug 2017

The summer-long nightmare for some NJ Transit commuters, who had to endure a longer commute the past few weeks because of track work at Penn Station, will end after Labor Day.

Service on the Morris & Essex lines will return to pre-July 10 patterns on Sept. 5 under a new schedule, said NJ Transit executive director Steven Santoro at a press conference at Hoboken Terminal on Thursday afternoon.

The track work will be complete on Sept. 1 with regular service resuming on Sept. 5,  he said. “It is definitely good news, particularly for MidTown Direct, Morris & Essex and North Jersey Coast Line customers.”
