I commuted into NYC for 20 years. I love Westfield, but I have had to be honest with city friends seeking to move to a good family town, about the perils of our commute – advising them to consider other towns like Summit. It’s not just the inconvenience of getting up and switching trains – it’s the incredible stress of catching the connection. Running up and down stairs as train tracks are announced too late, or not announced at all; missing stops when they are not announced or posted on the train; standing on jam-packed platforms waiting for any news of the missing connection as the limited space fills up with more and more people..it takes a huge toll on one’s mental and physical health, going through that torture day after day.
